Aman at Sea has marked a major construction milestone with the successful float out of its inaugural yacht, Amangati, ahead of its maiden voyage in May 2027.
The ceremony at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy, signifies the completion of the vessel’s exterior construction and its transition from dry dock to the outfitting phase, where interior fit-out and final preparations will continue before sea trials.
Countdown to maiden voyage
Amangati is scheduled to embark on its inaugural six-night voyage from Palma de Mallorca to Nice on 7 May 2027, launching a Mediterranean season of five- to eight-night itineraries across the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Ionian and Aegean seas.
Bookings are also open for the yacht’s newly announced Caribbean season later in 2027.
Jonathan Wilson, President and CEO of Aman at Sea, described the float out as a defining moment for the brand.
“Today is a defining moment in the story of Aman at Sea. To see Amangati painted, afloat and taking shape for the first time is to see years of design, craftsmanship and vision meeting the water together,” he said.
Intimate luxury at sea
Designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, the 180-metre yacht will accommodate just 94 guests across 47 ocean-facing suites, each featuring a private terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The nine-deck vessel will include four signature restaurants, multiple lounges, a marina with direct sea access, and what Aman says will be the largest spa in luxury yachting, spanning 740 square metres with eight ocean-facing treatment rooms. Guests will also enjoy a dedicated Suite Host and a crew of 207, delivering a crew-to-guest ratio of more than two to one.
Expanding the Aman brand
Amangati represents Aman Group’s first move into ocean cruising, extending the luxury hospitality brand’s portfolio beyond its hotels and resorts.
The yacht is being developed as a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi, bringing the brand’s signature focus on privacy, space and personalised service to the luxury yachting sector.
