AmaWaterways is strengthening its presence in Egypt with the launch of AmaNubia, a new luxury Nile river ship set to debut in November 2026, alongside a reimagined AmaDahlia and the award-winning AmaLilia.
The expansion comes as demand for luxury river cruises in Egypt continues to grow, with the cruise line also confirming AmaCleo will join the fleet in the second half of 2027.
AmaNubia to deliver an intimate luxury Nile experience
Designed to carry just 76 guests across 38 staterooms, including 15 suites, AmaNubia has been inspired by the colours, textures and heritage of ancient Egypt and Nubian culture.
Guests will enjoy locally inspired Middle Eastern cuisine, a wellness area with spa services, a fitness centre and public spaces designed for relaxation between excursions. Each sailing will also feature dedicated Egyptologists, providing expert insights through lectures and guided shore tours.
AmaWaterways CEO Catherine Powell said Egypt continued to captivate travellers seeking immersive cultural experiences.

Signature itinerary combines cruise and luxury hotel stays
AmaNubia will operate AmaWaterways’ Secrets of Egypt & the Nile itinerary, combining a luxury Nile river cruise with hotel stays in Cairo.
The itinerary includes visits to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan, as well as an exclusive private tour of Abdeen Palace.
Guests sailing aboard AmaNubia will stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence, while AmaLilia guests stay at The St. Regis Cairo and AmaDahlia guests enjoy The Ritz-Carlton, Cairo.
Optional experiences include Abu Simbel, High Tea at Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan, and pre- or post-cruise land extensions to Alexandria, Jordan and Dubai.
Powell said the new ship reinforces the company’s commitment to Egypt.
