Atlas Ocean Voyages has revealed the inaugural 2028–2029 season for Atlas Adventurer, billed as the world’s first luxury expedition sailing yacht, with bookings opening in Australia on 11 June 2026.
The new vessel will introduce Atlas Ocean Voyages to Asia and Africa for the first time, with a collection of 16 voyages ranging from eight to 21 nights across destinations including Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar and Greece.
Atlas Ocean Voyages President and CEO James A. Rodriguez said the new ship represented a significant milestone for the brand.
“With Atlas Adventurer, we are introducing entirely new destinations while staying true to our ethos of delivering deeply immersive, culturally rich journeys,” Rodriguez said.
New destinations for Atlas
The inaugural season will begin on 6 November 2028 with a roundtrip voyage from Kobe, Japan, before travelling through Southeast Asia and eastern Africa, concluding in Athens in May 2029.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore destinations never before featured in the Atlas portfolio, with itineraries designed around cultural immersion, regional cuisine and local experiences.
For travellers seeking longer journeys, Atlas is also offering a series of extended expedition voyages ranging from 40 to 128 nights.
Purpose-built for expedition sailing
Atlas Adventurer will accommodate up to 400 guests, all in suites, with a crew of 275. The 26,000-tonne vessel will feature three carbon masts, seven dining venues, five lounges, an expanded wellness centre, a large pool and expedition equipment including Zodiacs and luxury motorboats.
The ship will also incorporate dual-fuel engines and electric-hybrid propulsion technology, supported by a nine-megawatt marine battery system designed to enable near-silent and zero-emission operations in selected environments.
Launch fares revealed
Fares for the inaugural season start from US$7,693 per person twin share in a Panorama Ocean Suite on an eight-night sailing from Singapore to Phuket departing 19 February 2029.
Australian guests booking through Cruise Traveller before 30 September 2026 can also access flight credits of up to US$3,000 per suite, while longer expedition combinations attract flight credits of up to US$9,000 per suite.
