Azamara Cruises is expanding its signature AzAmazing Evenings program in 2027, adding 36 new complimentary cultural experiences across destinations including Hawai’i, Brazil, Vietnam, Ireland and Estonia.
The additions will take the program to 121 AzAmazing Evenings during 2027, comprising 101 shoreside events and 20 onboard cultural experiences.
Cruises of nine nights or longer will feature an AzAmazing Evening ashore, while guests on seven- and eight-night itineraries will experience cultural celebrations onboard.
Destination immersion after dark
First introduced in 2011, AzAmazing Evenings are exclusive to Azamara guests and designed to connect travellers with local culture through music, performance, storytelling and traditions.
Azamara Cruises CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler said the expanded collection supported the small-ship cruise line’s focus on destination immersion and spending more time in port.
“AzAmazing Evenings are one of the many ways we honor our commitment to Destination Immersion and our promise to Own the Night,” Ritzenthaler said.
“Our new 2027 collection offers guests even more unforgettable performances, local traditions, and meaningful cultural moments that allow them to connect more deeply with the communities they visit even after the sun has set.”
From Hawaiian music to Brazilian samba
Among the new experiences is An Evening of Hawaiian Spirit in Honolulu, featuring four-time Grammy Award-winning Hawaiian artist Kalani Pe’a at the historic Hawaii Theatre.
In Rio de Janeiro, Spirit of Brazil: From Gafieira to Samba will combine Samba de Gafieira, Frevo, Capoeira and live percussion before culminating in an interactive Carnival-inspired finale.
Guests visiting Ha Long Bay in Vietnam can experience the Majestic Dragon Pearl Show, a theatrical production combining traditional Vietnamese music, contemporary dance and 3D mapping technology.
In Ireland, an exclusive evening at Midleton Distillery near Cork will include a private tour, whiskey tasting, paired canapés and traditional Irish entertainment.
Azamara’s Baltic program will also feature a performance by the Estonian National Male Choir at the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn, with a repertoire spanning Gregorian chants, folk music and classical and contemporary compositions.
Cultural experiences across the fleet
The expanded program complements Azamara’s destination-focused approach, which includes longer stays in port, overnight calls and Extended Destination Days of 10 hours or more.
Azamara operates four small ships – Azamara Journey, Azamara Quest, Azamara Pursuit and Azamara Onward – with itineraries designed to combine marquee ports with smaller destinations.
The cruise line said the 2027 AzAmazing Evenings collection will provide guests with further opportunities to experience destinations beyond conventional daytime sightseeing.
