Bhaya Cruises will once again rally travellers, industry partners and local communities for its annual Clean the Bay environmental initiative in Ha Long Bay this month.
Sustainability campaign returns for ninth year
The Vietnamese cruise operator confirmed Clean The Bay 2026: Green Promise – For the Bay We Love will take place on 28 May 2026 in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed destination of Ha Long Bay.
Now entering its ninth year, the initiative continues Bhaya Cruises’ long-running focus on marine conservation and sustainable tourism practices.
Hands-on environmental activities planned
This year’s program will be hosted aboard Au Co Cruise and will feature a series of practical environmental activities designed to reduce waste and increase sustainability awareness.
Participants will take part in:
- Kayak and tender boat clean-up activities
- Waste sorting and environmental impact recording
- Sustainability awareness sessions
- Responsible tourism and ocean conservation discussions
The event will conclude with a sunset gathering celebrating the collective conservation effort.
Cruise line reinforces sustainability focus
Bhaya Cruises CEO Mr Nam said the initiative reflects the company’s long-term commitment to protecting Ha Long Bay.
“Clean the Bay is more than an annual event for us, it represents a long-term commitment to safeguarding the natural heritage of Ha Long Bay,” Nam said.
“Through this initiative, we hope to inspire both travellers and industry partners to take meaningful action and recognise that even the smallest efforts can contribute to preserving the bay for generations to come.”
Responsible tourism remains a growing priority
Bhaya Cruises said sustainable travel continues to shape the future of tourism globally, with the company integrating responsible environmental practices across its operations.
The initiative is open to invited travel industry guests, volunteers, environmental advocates and members of the public.
Bhaya Cruises currently operates a fleet of 12 vessels across Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay.
