Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has unveiled an 87-night grand voyage for 2028 combining the Amazon River with Antarctica, calling at 28 destinations across 17 countries. The Amazon and Antarctic Adventure is available in Australia through Cruise Traveller, the line’s exclusive local representative, with special pricing for bookings made by 30 June 2027.
The round-trip voyage departs Southampton on 5 January 2028 aboard the 1,360-guest Borealis, returning to Southampton after 87 nights.
Itinerary spans Caribbean, Amazon and Antarctic Peninsula
Borealis first sails to the Canary Islands, Costa Rica and the Caribbean, calling at Barbados, Antigua, Dominica and Jamaica. The ship then travels 1,500 kilometres inland along the Amazon River in Brazil over 10 days, reaching Manaus, with stops for jungle excursions and wildlife viewing, including toucans, monkeys and pink river dolphins, and visits to traditional villages.
The voyage continues south to Rio de Janeiro and Argentina, passing Cape Horn before spending three days cruising the Antarctic Peninsula, taking in glaciers, penguins, seals and whales. The return leg calls at the Falkland Islands and Buenos Aires before crossing the Atlantic via the Cape Verde Islands and Spain, concluding in Southampton.
Cruise Traveller managing director Joe O’Sullivan said the voyage reflected Fred. Olsen’s smaller-ship approach to long-distance cruising.

The 87-night voyage is priced from £16,099 per person (approximately AU$30,678), twin share, in an Oceanview Cabin. Early bookings are recommended given demand for the sailing.
