Hapag-Lloyd Cruises tees up personalised golf voyages

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is enhancing its Golf & Cruise program, offering travellers more personalised golfing experiences both at sea and ashore across its luxury ships EUROPA and EUROPA 2.

Drawing on more than 25 years of expertise, the cruise line’s Golf & Cruise voyages combine access to renowned international golf courses with luxury cruising, allowing guests to refine their game while exploring destinations around the world.

Tailored golf experiences at sea

In addition to dedicated Golf & Cruise departures, guests sailing on any EUROPA or EUROPA 2 voyage can now add customised golf experiences to their itinerary.

Options range from introductory lessons for beginners through to advanced coaching programs and bespoke golf packages tailored to specific destinations. Onboard golf simulators, video analysis technology and support from PGA professionals are also available throughout the voyage.

Selected Golf & Cruise departures feature accompanying PGA professionals who provide coaching both onboard and onshore, with guests enjoying access to carefully selected golf courses ranging from rainforest layouts to dramatic coastal fairways.

The Golf & Cruise package includes green fees, transfers, golf cart or trolley hire (where available), training sessions, video analysis, luggage and club handling, welcome events and an exclusive dinner with the resident PGA professional.

Flexible golf packages available

Guests looking to incorporate golf into their cruise can choose from several options, including:

  • Golf Taster Package – two introductory 50-minute coaching sessions for beginners
  • Golf Training Package – six coaching sessions designed to improve technique across all skill levels
  • Golf à la Carte – customised golf experiences including tee time bookings, transfers and equipment logistics
  • Golf Excursions Ashore – small-group golf outings hosted by the onboard PGA professional

Featured sailings for golfers

One of the standout itineraries for 2027 will sail from Mallorca to Tenerife, combining golf experiences across southern Spain, North Africa and La Gomera. The 12-day voyage will be accompanied by Stefan Quirmbach, President of the PGA of Germany.

Another featured sailing departs Colombo for Singapore, showcasing golf courses throughout Sri Lanka and Malaysia. The itinerary will be hosted by former professional golfer and Golf Team Germany coach André Sallmann.

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises said the enhanced program reflects growing demand for more personalised sporting experiences that can be seamlessly incorporated into luxury travel.

The cruise line operates a fleet of five luxury and expedition ships and is recognised as one of the leading luxury cruise brands in German-speaking markets.
