Heritage Expeditions has hosted a select group of leading Australian travel advisors on its Asian Island Odyssey famil, giving participants the opportunity to experience some of the most remote destinations in the Philippines and Indonesia.
Advisors explore remote island destinations
Hosted by Heritage Expeditions Australian Sales Manager Chris le Roux, the famil took place aboard the 140-guest Heritage Adventurer and showcased the expedition cruise line’s immersive small-ship product.
The itinerary visited isolated islands across the Philippines and Indonesia, with advisors experiencing Zodiac cruises, snorkelling, kayaking, hiking, wildlife encounters and visits to remote island communities.
Participants also encountered whale sharks, green sea turtles, sea snakes and rare wildlife while exploring one of the world’s most biodiverse regions.
Expedition product earns praise
Advisors described the voyage as a “bucket list” experience, praising both the destinations and Heritage Expeditions’ family-owned approach to expedition cruising.
Danielle Burroughs from Expedition Partners said the voyage took guests to “some of the most remote and breathtaking corners of the Philippines and Indonesia”.
Vicki Carmichael from Main Beach Travel highlighted the mix of wildlife encounters and cultural experiences, while Lori Burns from Globe Trotter Travel praised the onboard hospitality, expedition team and unique shore excursions.
Heritage Expeditions offers South Pacific voyages ranging from 14 to 19 days, sailing through Indonesia, Melanesia, Micronesia, the Philippines and Borneo.
