HX taps former Silversea executive to lead global marketing

HX Expeditions has appointed former Silversea Cruises executive Cinzia Amadio as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, strengthening its leadership team as the expedition cruise company sharpens its focus on brand growth, digital transformation and trade engagement.

Amadio will report directly to HX CEO Gebhard Rainer and join the company’s executive team, overseeing all aspects of global marketing across consumer, trade and digital channels.

Veteran cruise marketer joins HX leadership team

The appointment brings Amadio back to the cruise sector after serving as Chief Marketing and Growth Officer at ultra-luxury safari operator ROAR AFRICA, where she led brand and performance marketing initiatives.

Prior to that, she spent nine years with Silversea Cruises in a series of senior leadership positions spanning global marketing, trade marketing, expedition business development and marketing strategy.

HX said Amadio’s appointment reflects its commitment to creating a more connected brand experience for both guests and trade partners, while improving alignment across marketing, digital and customer experience functions.

Reporting directly to Rainer, she will be responsible for strengthening the customer journey from initial trip inspiration through to booking, pre-departure engagement and post-voyage communications.

Focus on brand, digital and customer experience

Amadio combines a background in computer science engineering with expertise in branding, storytelling and artificial intelligence, positioning her to bridge the gap between creative marketing and digital performance.

“I’m excited to join HX at such an important moment for the business,” Amadio said.

“There’s a real opportunity to build on the strong brand foundations already in place and connect brand storytelling, marketing performance, and digital capability more closely.

“By working together across these areas, we can deliver clearer, more consistent experiences for our guests and strengthen every stage of their journey with HX.”

Rainer said Amadio’s experience across luxury travel and cruise would be instrumental as the company continues to evolve.

“We are delighted to welcome Cinzia to HX,” he said.

“She brings a unique combination of digital expertise, brand-building capability, and deep experience in both the luxury and cruise sectors, which will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the guest experience and grow the business.”

Supporting HX’s growth ambitions

HX said the leadership appointment supports its broader strategy to improve collaboration across business functions, accelerate execution and create a more seamless experience across all customer touchpoints.

Headquartered in London, HX operates a fleet of five expedition ships visiting more than 250 destinations in over 30 countries. The company is recognised as the world’s oldest expedition cruise operator and the largest provider of expedition cruises to Antarctica.
