MSC Cruises is introducing a new fleetwide wellness concept that transforms its MSC Aurea Spa into a comprehensive health, beauty and wellbeing destination, with a suite of advanced treatments set to roll out throughout 2026.
The enhanced offering combines traditional spa therapies with medical wellness services, AI-powered skincare technology and premium beauty treatments, reflecting growing demand for wellness-focused travel experiences.
New era for onboard wellness

The expanded MSC Aurea Spa experience introduces services more commonly found at luxury wellness retreats, including IV therapy, aesthetic medicine, advanced skincare, Japanese Head Spa rituals and professional teeth whitening.
Guests will also have access to AI-powered skin analysis, providing personalised assessments and tailored treatment recommendations, alongside hydro-microdermabrasion treatments featuring products from luxury skincare brand Opatra London.
MSC Cruises Senior Vice President Onboard Revenues Georg Schmickler said travellers are increasingly seeking holidays that leave them feeling healthier and more refreshed.
“Today’s travellers are looking for more than a vacation – they want to return home feeling better than when they left,” Schmickler said.
“Our vision is to create the most complete wellness experience at sea, combining relaxation, beauty, recovery and self-care in one destination.”
New treatments across the fleet
Among the new services being introduced are medically supervised IV therapies, aesthetic injectables, dermal fillers and permanent make-up, initially launching on selected North American-based ships from summer 2026 before expanding across the fleet.
The wellness program will also include Japanese Head Spa treatments inspired by traditional Japanese wellbeing practices, men’s barbering services with scalp consultations and therapeutic massage, ear piercing using hypoallergenic jewellery, and a restorative tea menu developed by Team Dr Joseph.
Guests booking selected spa experiences will also receive a complimentary wellness pochette containing premium amenities, including branded flip-flops, shaving kits and other wellness essentials.
Meeting demand for wellness travel

MSC Cruises Head of Aurea Spa Claudio Saviano said the expanded program has been designed to make wellness an integral part of the cruise experience.
“Our focus is to create an immersive and effortlessly accessible wellness experience at sea, where every element and detail has been thoughtfully designed to help guests relax, recharge and leave feeling renewed, refreshed and revitalised,” Saviano said.
The enhancements form part of MSC Cruises’ continued investment in onboard guest experiences as wellness tourism continues to grow globally.
