MSC Cruises has revealed new details with upcoming launch of flagship MSC World Asia, with a major focus on enhanced outdoor family zones and expanded pool offerings as the line continues to invest in high-capacity, experience-led ships.
Set to launch in December 2026, MSC World Asia will feature seven-night Mediterranean itineraries and introduce new family cruise attractions to the European market, including the debut of The Harbour concept.
Family-focused outdoor spaces take centre stage

A key highlight of MSC World Asia is the redesigned Harbour district, an all-day outdoor entertainment zone first introduced on MSC World America and now adapted with an Asian-inspired theme.
The space is positioned as a multi-generational hub, combining dining, play and relaxation, with attractions including an over-water swing ride, high ropes course and expanded aquapark.
MSC Cruises said the concept is designed to cater to families and groups seeking varied onboard experiences, reflecting broader demand for ships that function as destinations in their own right.
Expanded pool offering targets mass market appeal

MSC World Asia will feature seven pools and 13 whirlpool baths, including new indoor and outdoor pool concepts within the AquaDeck district.
The outdoor Manila Bay pool is designed as a high-energy social space with entertainment and upgraded amenities, while the indoor Coral Cove pool offers an all-weather alternative with a retractable roof.
The AquaDeck will transition from wellness-led mornings to entertainment-driven afternoons and evening events, supporting the ship’s all-day programming strategy.
Mediterranean deployment supports global growth strategy
MSC World Asia will commence cruising from 4 December 2026, visiting key Mediterranean ports including Barcelona, Marseille, Naples and Valletta.
As the third ship in MSC’s World Class series, the vessel continues the brand’s push into larger, feature-rich ships aimed at competing with other global cruise operators in the family and premium mass market segments.
For the Australian travel trade, the expanded onboard offering and Mediterranean deployment provide additional selling points for clients seeking resort-style cruising with strong family appeal.
