MSC Cruises has scrapped plans to send MSC World Europa to the Middle East for Northern Hemisphere Winter 2027/2028, keeping the ship in the Western Mediterranean instead. The change flows on to MSC World Asia, which will now debut as the line’s new flagship in the South Caribbean rather than the Mediterranean.
Guests already booked on MSC World Europa’s Middle East season are being contacted directly and offered the choice of moving to another sailing or requesting a full refund. Guests booked on MSC World Asia in the Mediterranean, or on MSC Meraviglia in the South Caribbean, will have their bookings updated automatically and will be contacted about any changes specific to their sailing.
World Europa stays in the Mediterranean
MSC World Europa will continue operating seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries, with embarkation available from Barcelona and Rome. Ports of call include Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Messina and Valletta.
World Asia takes over South Caribbean flagship role
MSC World Asia will operate seven and 14-night itineraries in the South Caribbean, embarking from Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre and Bridgetown. The ship calls at Castries, St George’s, Philipsburg, St John’s, Basseterre, Roseau and Kingstown. As MSC’s new flagship, it introduces the Cliffhanger over-water swing ride and what MSC describes as the largest Venchi chocolate experience at sea.
