Oceania boosts advisor commissions

Oceania Cruises is strengthening its trade relationships, announcing it will eliminate Non-Commissionable Cruise Fares (NCFs) on all newly launched sailings to expand earning potential for travel advisors.

Major commission change for the trade

The luxury cruise line confirmed the move will apply across newly released itineraries, including Summer 2028, Winter 2028–29 and the Around the World 2028 and 2029 voyages.

Under the new structure, published commission rates will apply to the full commissionable cruise fare, increasing advisor earnings without changing guest pricing or overall package value.

Advisors positioned at centre of growth strategy

Oceania Cruises Chief Sales Officer Nathan Hickman said the change reflects the company’s long-term investment in the travel trade.

“Travel advisors are central to Oceania Cruises’ growth strategy — today and long into the future,” Hickman said.

“Eliminating the Non-Commissionable Cruise Fare increases advisor earning potential on every booking and reflects our commitment to building the most advisor-centric commercial model in luxury cruising.”

Industry-standard practice removed

Non-Commissionable Cruise Fares remain a common practice across the cruise industry, making Oceania Cruises’ decision a notable shift within the luxury sector.

The company said the move would simplify advisor compensation structures, improve transparency and strengthen relationships with agency partners globally.

“This change is about recognising the value travel advisors deliver and ensuring they share more directly in the growth they help create,” Hickman added.

Expansion plans continue

The announcement comes amid a broader growth phase for Oceania Cruises, following the recent confirmation of a fifth Sonata-class ship.

With additional capacity planned across the coming decade, the cruise line said travel advisors would remain central to its commercial strategy and future expansion plans.

New itineraries are expected to open for sale during May and June 2026.
