Oceania Cruises is highlighting its longer voyages as demand grows for slower, more immersive travel, with itineraries ranging from month-long sailings and Grand Voyages to 180-day journeys around the world.
The luxury cruise line’s extended itineraries span destinations across Asia, Australia, Alaska, Europe, South America and beyond, allowing travellers to explore multiple countries and cultures without the repeated flights, hotel changes and logistics associated with a traditional multi-destination holiday.
With more than 600 destinations across its global program, Oceania Cruises said longer voyages also give guests more time to explore UNESCO World Heritage sites, major cultural capitals and smaller coastal destinations.
More time to explore
Oceania Cruises Chief Luxury Officer Jason Montague said longer itineraries reflected changing expectations among luxury travellers.
“For today’s luxury traveller, discovering somewhere new is about more than moving from one place to another,” Montague said.
“Longer voyages give guests the time to experience destinations differently. They can linger a little longer, venture farther and appreciate the character of each place without feeling rushed.”
The cruise line’s adults-only ships combine destination-intensive itineraries with sea days, onboard enrichment, dining and small-group shore excursions.
Oceania Aurelia takes on the world
The line’s extended-voyage strategy will be further supported by the arrival of Oceania Aurelia in late 2027.
Described by Oceania Cruises as “The Ultimate Explorer”, the new ship will feature fewer than 250 suites and staterooms and has been designed with longer journeys in mind.
Oceania Aurelia will operate the line’s 2028 and 2029 Around the World voyages, each spanning 180 days.
The 2028 voyage departs Miami on 18 January and concludes in New York after travelling through Mexico, Central America, Hawaii, the South Pacific, Australia, Asia and Europe.
The 2029 circumnavigation departs Los Angeles on 6 January for New York, taking guests through South America, the South Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Europe.
Australia features in extended itineraries
Australia plays a significant role in several of Oceania Cruises’ longer voyages.
The 68-day Epic Reefs to Icy Glaciers voyage aboard Oceania Riviera departs Sydney on 7 March 2027 for Vancouver. The itinerary combines Australia’s coastline with Southeast Asia, Japan and Alaska, with highlights including the Great Barrier Reef, Komodo dragons and Hubbard Glacier.
Also aboard Oceania Riviera, the 39-day Asia to Alaska Majesty voyage departs Singapore on 5 April 2027 and visits the Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan before continuing to Alaska and Vancouver.
In Europe, Oceania Marina will operate the 66-day Springing Into Summer voyage from Trieste to London from 17 April 2027. The itinerary travels through the Adriatic and Mediterranean before continuing through Spain, France and Northern Europe.
Oceania Aurelia will also offer a 31-day Holiday Crossing from Athens to Miami from 18 December 2027, visiting destinations across Italy, France and Spain before sailing to the Canary Islands, San Juan and Miami.
