AmaWaterways is reporting record participation from Australian and New Zealand travel advisors as its River of Rewards incentive enters its final week, with places on the 2026 Mega Famil aboard AmaSofia still available.
The incentive, which closes on 28 February, will see qualifying advisors sail the Danube in August 2026 on what the line describes as one of its most significant trade famil experiences to date.
Managing Director AU/NZ Steve Richards said engagement levels have exceeded expectations.
‘The level of engagement from our travel advisor partners has far surpassed what we anticipated. It’s a clear reflection of the passion and commitment within our trade community,’ Richards said.
2026 Mega Famil on the Danube

The Mega Famil will take place aboard AmaSofia, bringing together high-achieving advisors for an immersive Danube sailing featuring guided excursions, onboard dining and AmaWaterways’ signature service.
Advisor feedback throughout the campaign has highlighted the incentive’s inclusive structure, with participants noting the opportunity for both established river cruise sellers and those newer to the category to compete on equal footing.
Ongoing investment in trade partnerships
AmaWaterways said the incentive forms part of a broader investment in the Australian and New Zealand trade. Since establishing its local office, the company has hosted more than 150 advisors on famil experiences.
Recent sailings included the Enchanting Rhine itinerary aboard AmaCerto and Colours of Provence aboard AmaKristina on the Rhône River. A New Zealand trade group is set to join a Tulip Time sailing in March, with additional famil departures planned for 2026.
‘When advisors see firsthand the quality of our ships and the calibre of our crew, they return home better equipped to inspire their clients,’ Richards said.
With the leaderboard still in play, advisors are being encouraged to complete remaining challenges before the incentive closes.
