Regent Seven Seas Cruises celebrated a decade of growth in the Asia-Pacific region with an elegant anniversary event at the Astor Bar, InterContinental Sydney.
Set high above Sydney Harbour, the venue delivered a spectacular backdrop for the occasion, where industry partners gathered for cocktails and canapés while overlooking one of the world’s most iconic harbours.
Hosted by Lisa Pile, Vice President Sales & General Manager Asia-Pacific, and Steve Odell, Global Ambassador, the evening brought together key stakeholders who have supported Regent’s journey from its early days in the region to its current position as a leader in ultra-luxury cruising.
From humble beginnings to global leader in ultra-luxury cruising

Reflecting on that journey, Odell recalled the brand’s humble beginnings in 2015. “We started with pretty much nothing… a small workspace, a very small base of customers,” he said. “When I look at the business today… I feel very proud to have been part of that journey.”
Both speakers emphasised the importance of partnerships in building the brand’s success. “It doesn’t happen because we set up an office and employ people—it happens because of all of you and the partnerships,” Odell noted, acknowledging the travel industry’s vital role in Regent’s growth.
Looking ahead, the future for Regent Seven Seas Cruises in the region appears equally strong. Guests heard of significant expansion plans, including a pipeline of new ships through to the next decade, signalling continued investment and increasing deployment in Australia and Asia-Pacific.
“There is huge interest in this part of the world,” Pile said, thanking partners for driving both outbound and inbound growth in a region that is “absolutely booming.”
The evening also marked Odell’s return to Australia, where he will take on a new ambassadorial role supporting both Regent and Oceania Cruises globally, while remaining closely connected to the region he helped build.
With expansion plans in motion and strong industry partnerships firmly in place, the celebration was a clear statement of Regent’s ongoing commitment to the Asia-Pacific market.
