Scenic Group has unveiled a major expansion of its 2028 luxury yacht cruising programme, highlighted by the debut of Emerald Xara and the return of Scenic Eclipse II to Australia and the South Pacific.
The move reflects strong demand for both luxury yacht and expedition cruising, with the Scenic Group continuing to build on its 40-year legacy of innovation across global travel experiences.
Asia-Pacific itineraries take centre stage
Emerald Xara will mark a milestone as the first Emerald Cruises yacht to explore Asia and Australia, operating 15 new itineraries across the region.
Destinations include Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, as well as Indonesia’s spectacular Raja Ampat, before extending to Australia’s Kimberley coast and Papua New Guinea.
Scenic Eclipse II returns to strong demand

Following successful recent seasons, Scenic Eclipse II will return to the region in 2028, offering an extended programme across the South Pacific, Australia and Antarctica.
Voyages will span from Tahiti through the Pacific Islands to Australia’s Kimberley, continuing to Hobart and New Zealand, with select sailings venturing to East Antarctica and the Ross Sea.
Dual-brand strategy enhances guest choice

For the first time, travellers will be able to explore the region across both Scenic Group brands, choosing between the ultra-luxury, all-inclusive Scenic Eclipse II and the more relaxed yacht-style experience of Emerald Xara.
The expansion also forms part of a broader pipeline of new जहships and itineraries across river and ocean cruising, reinforcing Scenic Group’s global growth strategy.
Early registrations open for 2028 sailings
Pre-registrations for 2028–2029 voyages are now open, with early booking incentives available across both Scenic and Emerald Cruises programmes.
The announcement underscores the continued momentum in the premium and luxury cruise sector, particularly across the Asia-Pacific and expedition markets.
