Now, HX Expeditions is taking that experience even deeper with a new collection of immersive journeys designed to connect travellers with the land, its people and its stories.
Launching from June and running through the 2026–2027 season, the new experiences have been developed in close collaboration with local Greenlandic partners, offering a more meaningful and grounded way to explore one of the world’s most dramatic landscapes.
Into the elements
At the heart of the new offering is the Into the Elements: Greenland Experience, a multi-day adventure that pushes beyond the traditional boundaries of expedition cruising.
Limited to just nine guests per departure, the experience is designed to feel personal and deeply immersive. It begins with a six-kilometre hike through South Greenland’s rugged terrain, followed by a science-led boat journey that explores the region’s natural systems.
From there, the journey becomes even more remote. Travellers hike into a base camp set deep within the landscape, where ‘glamping’ comforts meet wilderness surroundings. An overnight stay includes storytelling led by local guides, offering rare insight into Greenlandic culture and life in this isolated environment.
The following day brings a more challenging ascent, a 7.5-kilometre hike across gravel paths leading to a series of striking waterfalls, before returning to complete the journey.
A deeper connection to place
Beyond this flagship experience, HX Expeditions is expanding its Greenland programme with a range of new activities designed to bring travellers closer to the environment and the communities who call it home.
New boat excursions offer fresh perspectives on the coastline, while kayaking experiences allow guests to move quietly through icy waters. Guided walks led by local Inuit partners provide cultural context that transforms what travellers see into something far more meaningful.
