The top 6 luxury cruises of 2026

Luxury cruising is entering one of its most ambitious years yet, with a wave of new ships setting sail across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and beyond. From a brand-new superyacht line to the world’s largest sailing yacht, here are the six luxury cruise launches shaping 2026.

Four Seasons I

Four Seasons made its long-awaited entry into cruising with the launch of Four Seasons I, which set sail in the Mediterranean on March 20. The 207-metre yacht carries just 95 suites against a one-to-one guest-to-staff ratio, with every suite offering indoor-outdoor living and no interior cabins. Its most striking accommodations include the nearly 10,000-square-foot Funnel Suite and the almost 8,000-square-foot Loft Suite, while onboard dining spans 11 venues, including Sedna, which features rotating Michelin-starred chefs. The inaugural season covers 32 voyages across 52 sailings to 130 destinations throughout the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Bahamas, with Mediterranean highlights including Saint-Tropez, Bodrum and the Greek Isles.

Orient Express Corinthian

Billed as the world’s largest sailing yacht, Orient Express Corinthian departs on its Mediterranean maiden voyage in June. At almost 722 feet and carrying 110 guests with 170 crew, the yacht is powered by three 328-foot carbon-fibre masts capable of keeping it wind-powered up to 80 per cent of the time, paired with electric propulsion. Onboard, six penthouse suites can combine into a private 10,000-square-foot sanctuary for 22 guests, while dining runs to five restaurants, including La Table de l’Orient Express, overseen by Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno. Summer sailings cover the French and Italian Riviera, with winter voyages shifting to the Caribbean; an eight-night Amalfi Coast cruise is priced from around €45,600 per suite.

Explora III

Explora Journeys brings its third ship to the fleet ahead of schedule, with Explora III launching in July via an exclusive Mediterranean Prelude Journey, followed by an official naming ceremony in Barcelona on August 1 and a maiden voyage departing August 3. The ship carries 463 suites, including 109 penthouses and 39 Ocean Residences, alongside a second Owner’s Residence designed by Patricia Urquiola. Guests have access to 12 bars and lounges, three outdoor heated pools and five heated whirlpools, plus new dining concepts including The Chef’s Table by Explora Journeys. Explora III is also the first LNG-powered ship in the fleet, and will sail Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland and Alaska itineraries through 2026 and 2027.

Windstar Star Seeker

Windstar Cruises rounds out its small-ship fleet with Star Seeker, launching in early 2026 with 112 all-suite cabins, each featuring a private veranda. The ship offers five dining venues, a spa, and a rear marina with direct water sports access, positioning it firmly within Windstar’s intimate, yacht-style approach to luxury cruising. Star Seeker’s debut season covers the Caribbean over winter before shifting to Alaska in spring.

Emerald Kaia

Emerald Cruises adds Emerald Kaia to its river and boutique ocean offering in April, carrying 128 passengers with family-friendly connecting suites, an observation deck pool, an expanded spa and two onboard restaurants, alongside a marina bar with water sports access. The ship’s 2026 itinerary spans the Mediterranean, Aegean and Adriatic seas, with an addition of Seychelles sailings extending the line’s reach beyond its European heartland.

Seven Seas Prestige

Regent Seven Seas Cruises closes out the year with its December 13 launch of Seven Seas Prestige, carrying 850 guests supported by 630 crew across 12 all-balcony suite categories. The ship’s headline feature is the Skyview Regent Suite, an 8,794-square-foot two-level suite with a 3,700-square-foot wraparound balcony, priced from $27,000 a night and now the largest and most expensive suite at sea, more than double the size and price of Regent’s previous flagship Regent Suite. Seven Seas Prestige also introduces a private dining venue, The Study, ahead of a season spanning the Caribbean over winter and Europe through the warmer months.
