Travelmarvel has expanded its European river cruise fleet with the launch of TM Rigel, which departed Amsterdam on 30 June 2026 on its maiden voyage along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. The new vessel strengthens the brand’s presence in Europe and marks another milestone in its ongoing investment in river cruising.
Fourth purpose-built vessel joins the fleet
TM Rigel joins sister ships Polaris, Capella and Vega, creating a four-ship fleet purpose-built for European river cruising. Accommodating up to 178 guests across 89 cabins and supported by a crew of 44, the vessel has been designed to deliver a relaxed and immersive cruising experience through the heart of Europe.
APT Travel Group CEO David Cox said the launch reinforces Travelmarvel’s commitment to delivering contemporary river cruise holidays with exceptional value.
“The introduction of Rigel reflects Travelmarvel’s continued investment in delivering exceptional river cruise experiences. With four purpose-built ships now operating across the Rhine, Main and Danube, we’re building a fleet defined by smart design, innovation and a clear focus on the guest,” Cox said.
Designed for modern river cruising
Guests aboard TM Rigel will enjoy a range of contemporary facilities, including an open-air Sun Deck with a jacuzzi, an onboard gym, Constellations Restaurant, True North Lounge and McGeary’s Bar.
The ship’s Owner’s Suites and French Balcony Suites feature electronic slide-down windows, allowing uninterrupted views of Europe’s ever-changing river landscapes from the comfort of guests’ cabins.
Maiden voyage celebrates a new chapter
Travelmarvel marked the ship’s inaugural sailing with a special sail-away celebration, including the ceremonial ringing of the ship’s bell as guests and crew gathered on the Sun Deck to commemorate the beginning of TM Rigel’s service.
