Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced plans to launch three new ships in 2028, expanding its fleet to 22 vessels as demand for luxury river cruising continues to grow.
The new additions – S.S. Helen, S.S. Clara and Mekong Mystique – will sail on the Danube, Rhine and Mekong rivers respectively, with each ship designed to reflect the art, history and culture of its region.
Three new ships across Europe and Asia
The S.S. Helen will debut on the Danube, inspired by Mediterranean elegance and Greek hospitality, with highlights including the 15-day Danube Grandeur itinerary through six countries.
Joining the Rhine fleet, the S.S. Clara pays tribute to Dutch Golden Age artist Clara Peeters and will launch on the popular Holland & Belgium at Tulip Time itinerary.
In Southeast Asia, Mekong Mystique will expand capacity on the Mekong River, sailing exclusively on the Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong itinerary through Vietnam and Cambodia.
Fleet growth continues
The announcement follows Uniworld’s planned addition of four new ships in 2027, marking one of the brand’s largest periods of investment.
Uniworld President and CEO Ellen Bettridge said the expansion reflected growing demand for immersive luxury travel experiences.
“As demand for immersive travel continues to grow, every new ship we build allows us to continue raising the bar for luxury river cruising. It’s also an opportunity to create deeper, more meaningful connections between our guests and the destinations we sail,” she said.
Bookings for Uniworld’s 2028 season are now open, with the cruise line expecting strong demand for the inaugural sailings.
