Viking has added 12 new departures of its 17-day Iberian Odyssey voyage for travel between Q4 2027 and Q3 2028, following strong demand for the River & Ocean Combination itinerary since its initial release.
Iberian Odyssey pairs Mediterranean and Douro River sailing
Iberian Odyssey sails between Barcelona and Porto, combining Mediterranean ocean cruising with a journey along Portugal’s Douro River. Highlights include an overnight stay in Lisbon, calls at Málaga, Cartagena and Seville, exploration of the UNESCO-listed Douro Valley wine region, and a stop in Tangier.
River & Ocean Combination voyages allow travellers to cover inland and coastal destinations within a single itinerary, transitioning between Viking’s river and ocean vessels without needing to coordinate two separate trips.
Rhine and Nordic itinerary also gains new departures
Viking has also released two new departures of its 15-day Rhine & Viking Shores & Fjords itinerary, which combines a Rhine River journey with coastal exploration through Denmark and Norway.
For agents selling Viking’s combination product, the added departures give more availability to book clients seeking greater destination depth in a single journey, particularly those wanting to experience both river and ocean cruising styles without separate bookings.
