Viking puts agent rewards behind Viking Homelands virtual event

Viking is giving travel advisors another client engagement and sales opportunity this week, with its next complimentary Virtual Explorer Session focusing on the Viking Homelands ocean itinerary on 20 August 2026.

The online event will take agents and their clients through Scandinavia and the Baltic while offering trade incentives for client attendance and subsequent bookings. A companion cruise fare valued at up to $15,000 is also up for grabs for attendees.

Viking Homelands takes centre stage

Running from 11:00 AEST on Thursday, 20 August, the session will showcase Viking’s Viking Homelands voyage and destinations including Stockholm, Oslo, Bergen and Tallinn.

The presentation will explore the region’s cultural heritage and landscapes while giving prospective guests an introduction to the Viking cruise experience. The session will run for just over an hour and include a live Q&A, prizes and an event-only booking offer.

The event forms part of Viking’s ongoing Virtual Explorer Sessions program, which the cruise line uses to give prospective guests destination and itinerary information before booking.

Agents earn rewards for client participation

For travel advisors, the program provides a direct incentive to invite clients to attend. Agents will earn $10 in Rewards by Viking points for each referred client who participates in a Virtual Explorer Session.

If the client makes a booking within 14 days of attending, the referring agent will receive a further $50 in bonus Rewards by Viking points.

Agents need to email their clients’ names to infosessions.anz@viking.com before the session to qualify for the rewards.

There is an additional incentive attached to the Viking Homelands event: attendees will go into the draw to win a companion cruise fare valued at up to $15,000. If a referred client wins, their travel advisor will also receive $1,000 in Rewards by Viking points.

More Viking training opportunities ahead

The Viking Homelands presentation follows earlier 2026 sessions covering Alaska and France and will be followed by a Capitals of Eastern Europe Virtual Explorer Session on 24 September 2026 at 11:00 AEST.

That session will focus on Viking’s 17-day Capitals of Eastern Europe river itinerary from Vienna to Bucharest, providing agents with another opportunity to introduce clients to the cruise line while earning referral and conversion rewards.

For advisors looking for ways to maintain contact with prospective cruise clients, the Virtual Explorer format provides ready-made destination content alongside a defined follow-up window, with the additional $50 reward applying when referred attendees book within 14 days.
