Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has wrapped up its biggest-ever Cruise Month campaign, with a major national advertising push that put CLIA-certified travel agents in the spotlight.
For the first time, CLIA ran a digital billboard campaign in high-traffic commuter areas across Australia, including major train stations, ferry terminals, airports and motorways. The campaign directed would-be cruisers to book with a CLIA-certified agent, highlighting their expertise in planning the perfect cruise holiday.
“Cruise Month is all about creating momentum and building excitement around cruising,” said Joel Katz, CLIA Managing Director in Australasia.
“This year, we’ve taken that message to a new level — and we’ve made sure that CLIA-certified agents are front and centre in that conversation.”
Record engagement and agent resources
The October initiative saw a ramped-up program of promotions, including targeted social media and digital campaigns, as well as dedicated cruise features in weekend travel media.
CLIA also expanded its agent education resources, launching new Spotlight Sessions focused on river and expedition cruising, and offering its most extensive webinar series to date. Weekly Cruise Month specials were shared with members, giving them added tools to engage clients and drive bookings.
As the cruise sector continues to surge, CLIA’s October campaign has reinforced the value of trusted, expert guidance in the cruise planning process — and ensured that CLIA-accredited agents remain at the heart of the industry’s ongoing recovery.
