Hurtigruten is once again partnering with the Nordic Film Festival, inviting Australian travellers and travel advisors to experience the culture, landscapes and stories of Scandinavia through a showcase of contemporary Nordic cinema.
Running throughout July and August at Palace Cinemas in eight Australian cities, the 2026 Nordic Film Festival marks the second consecutive year Hurtigruten has served as naming partner, reinforcing the cruise line’s long-standing connection to Norway and the wider Nordic region.
Cinema offers a window into Nordic destinations
With more than 130 years sailing the Norwegian coastline, Hurtigruten says the festival provides an opportunity for travel advisors to gain a deeper appreciation of the destinations they sell.
Managing Director APAC Damian Perry said the films offer audiences an authentic glimpse into the landscapes and culture that define the Hurtigruten experience.
“Nordic film has a way of transporting you directly into the heart of this part of the world,” Perry said.
“Whether it’s the Norwegian coast, the Arctic or the Icelandic highlands, these films give agents and their clients a real feel for the places Hurtigruten sails. We’re proud to support the festival for the second year running.”
Festival highlights include Norwegian opening film Árru, which explores Sámi culture through the story of a family of reindeer herders, the Cannes Palme d’Or-winning Fjord, filmed on Norway’s dramatic west coast, and comedy The Pension Heist.
Travel advisors can win festival tickets
To celebrate the partnership, Hurtigruten is giving away 15 double passes to the Nordic Film Festival.
Travel advisors can enter by emailing apac.marketing@hurtigruten.com and sharing their three recommended experiences in Norway.
