Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is offering Australian travellers two festive-themed European cruises in December 2026, with bookings now available through its local representative, Cruise Traveller.
The six-night sailings aboard the 1,350-guest Balmoral will visit some of Europe’s best-known Christmas markets, combining seasonal celebrations with small-ship cruising through France, Belgium and Germany.

The first departure, on 10 December 2026, includes overnight stays in Rouen, France, and Antwerp, Belgium, allowing guests extra time to experience the festive atmosphere after dark.
A highlight of the itinerary is Balmoral’s journey along the Seine River to Rouen, a route accessible to smaller vessels and offering views of the French countryside en route to the medieval city.
Guests visiting Antwerp will have the opportunity to explore traditional Christmas markets featuring local specialities, seasonal treats and artisan crafts.
Hamburg takes centre stage on second voyage
The second sailing departs Southampton on 16 December 2026 and features an overnight stay in Hamburg, home to one of Germany’s most popular Christmas markets.
The city’s festive markets are known for their illuminated wooden stalls selling handcrafted gifts, ornaments and traditional foods, including lebkuchen, bratwurst and roasted chestnuts.
The itinerary also includes a call to Honfleur in France, a picturesque harbour town known for its cobbled streets and historic waterfront.

Both cruises are priced from £999 per person, approximately A$1,908, and include onboard gratuities and selected drinks with lunch and dinner.
