Virgin Voyages strengthens ANZ team with sales leadership appointment

Virgin Voyages has reinforced its commitment to the Australian and New Zealand market with the appointment of David Clark as Head of Sales, as the adults-only cruise line continues to invest in regional growth and trade engagement.

Industry veteran to lead trade growth

Clark brings more than 20 years of experience across the travel and cruise sectors, having held senior leadership roles with Disney, Helloworld Travel, Tauck and Carnival Australia. Most recently, he served as Managing Director Australia at Tauck, where he was responsible for commercial growth, strategic partnerships and expanding the company’s local presence.

In his new role, Clark will oversee Virgin Voyages’ First Mate (travel advisor) sales and commercial strategy across Australia and New Zealand. His focus will include strengthening trade partnerships, expanding distribution opportunities and driving long-term revenue growth while increasing awareness of the Virgin Voyages brand among Australian and New Zealand travellers.

Focus on trade partnerships

The appointment comes as Virgin Voyages identifies Australia and New Zealand as priority international growth markets. The cruise line said the strategy centres on growing its First Mate network and attracting more travellers to its award-winning, adults-only cruise experience.

Clark said he was excited to join the company during a significant period of expansion.

“Virgin Voyages has built a reputation for doing things differently, and I’m excited to join the business at such a pivotal time,” he said.

“There’s already strong affinity for the Virgin brand across Australia and New Zealand, and more travellers are seeking premium, kid-free holiday experiences.”

Next phase of regional expansion

Matt Lebbern, Director of Sales, Europe and Australia & New Zealand, said Clark’s extensive travel industry experience made him well placed to lead the next phase of growth.

“Australia and New Zealand have embraced Virgin Voyages from day one and continue to be among our strongest international source markets globally,” Lebbern said.

“David will play a key role in strengthening our First Mate partnerships, leading our commercial strategy and accelerating the next phase of growth across Australia and New Zealand.”

Clark will officially commence the role on 6 July 2026.
