Crown Princess has arrived in Sydney Harbour, launching Princess Cruises’ 2026-27 Australian summer season after completing a 114-night World Cruise covering 36,000 nautical miles. It is the first of four Princess ships to sail Australian waters this summer, carrying 2,720 guests and 1,130 crew.
Crown Princess will be joined by Royal Princess, returning to Sydney for its third local season, Grand Princess, which becomes Australia’s next year-round Princess ship, and Coral Princess, visiting as part of its World Cruise from Fort Lauderdale with 2,500 American guests aboard.
62 departures across 42 itineraries
Princess Cruises will operate 62 departures across 42 itineraries during the season, spanning short coastal getaways and longer voyages across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Matthew Rutherford, Princess Cruises vice president Asia Pacific, said the season built on the line’s long-standing presence in the local market.
“For 50 years, Australians have trusted Princess to take them to some of the world’s most remarkable destinations, and we’re proud to begin another summer season offering more choice, more destinations and unforgettable holiday experiences both close to home and across the region,” Rutherford said.
Season expected to generate $231 million in economic impact
Princess Cruises said its 2026-27 Australian summer season is expected to generate an estimated $231 million in economic impact, supporting local businesses, producers and tourism operators.
The figure sits within broader industry data from the Australian Paddock to Port Alliance, which found cruise lines contributed $7.32 billion to the Australian economy last financial year and directly supported 22,720 jobs.
