Cruiseabout is expanding its national retail network with two new storefronts planned for Indooroopilly in Brisbane and Doncaster in Melbourne later this year, as demand for cruising among Australian travellers continues to rise.
The new locations will take Cruiseabout’s retail footprint to 11 stores nationwide and come as the latest Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Source Market Report revealed Australian cruise passenger numbers increased 9.5 per cent from 1.3 million to 1.4 million travellers.
Cruiseabout General Manager Brad Kennedy said the growing appetite for cruising was creating strong opportunities for specialist consultants.
“It’s hard to believe that in just three years we’ve managed to rebuild an entire brand and have 11 stores in almost every state, in addition to three incredibly successful remote teams,” Kennedy said.
“Australians cannot get enough of cruising and as such there’s ample opportunity for consultants to build a strong client base and a genuinely rewarding career.”
Focus on face-to-face cruising expertise
The two new stores will provide specialist cruise planning services across ocean, river and expedition cruising, with Cruiseabout continuing to back the value of in-person consultation.
Kennedy said cruise remained a highly considered purchase where travellers valued expert advice and personalised recommendations.
“Cruise is a considered purchase that is not only nuanced in itinerary but in cruise line, size of ship, level of luxury, inclusions and so much more,” he said.
“Because of this, customers want to talk to someone in person who knows the product inside out.”
Cruiseabout is currently recruiting team leaders and consultants for both upcoming locations.
