Princess Cruises has launched its 2027–28 South America program, featuring extended Antarctic Peninsula experiences and longer itineraries designed to capture growing demand for immersive, nature-led cruising.
On sale now, the season will run from October 2027 to January 2028 aboard Majestic Princess, with six departures across four itineraries ranging from 15 to 37 days.
Longer itineraries and Antarctica access drive appeal

The program includes roundtrip Antarctica and South America voyages from Buenos Aires, as well as Cape Horn and Patagonia sailings between Buenos Aires and Santiago.
A 37-day Grand Adventure sailing from Southampton to Santiago will open the season, reflecting continued interest in longer, repositioning-style itineraries among high-value cruise guests.
Princess Cruises chief commercial officer Jim Berra said the season is designed to deliver deeper destination engagement.
“Our 2027–28 South America season is designed to bring guests closer to the world’s most breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cultures,” he said.
Trade opportunity in high-value expedition-style cruising
The itineraries feature 19 destinations across eight countries and include access to 15 UNESCO World Heritage sites, alongside overnight stays in Buenos Aires and late-night calls in key ports such as Rio de Janeiro and Ushuaia.
For the trade, the inclusion of Antarctica experiences without requiring a dedicated expedition vessel positions the program as an accessible entry point into polar cruising.
Additional land-based cruisetours to Machu Picchu and Iguazu Falls further expand upsell opportunities for agents targeting long-haul, multi-component itineraries.
Focus on immersive experiences and onboard enrichment
Princess is also leaning into destination immersion, with scenic cruising through Glacier Alley and the Beagle Channel, alongside onboard naturalists and enrichment programming focused on Antarctic wildlife and regional culture.
Shore excursions will highlight wildlife encounters, including penguin colonies in the Falkland Islands, as well as cultural experiences such as tango performances in Buenos Aires.
For Australian agents, the combination of iconic bucket-list destinations, extended itineraries and bundled land programs reinforces South America and Antarctica as a key growth segment in premium cruising.
