Virgin Voyages has leaned into Valentine’s season with a cheeky new activation: a Breakup Line hotline where callers can leave a voicemail “breaking up” with anything that no longer serves them — from a boyfriend who never plans dates to loyalty programs full of blackout dates and fine print.
The line is open from 3–28 February 2026.
A “safe space” to ditch bad habits and bad travel perks
Virgin Voyages’ vice president of marketing and digital innovation, Billy Bohan Chinique, said the concept is about not settling — in love, travel, or how you’re treated — positioning the Breakup Line as “a release valve” and a reminder there’s a better “situation(ship)”.
The hotline is voiced by Chris Burns (aka @PhatCarrieBradshaw), with an answering-machine-style prompt inviting callers to record their break-up message.
Tied to Virgin Voyages’ status match push
The campaign is designed to feed into Virgin Voyages’ Sailing Club Status Match program, which lets eligible travellers bring existing loyalty status from a wide range of cruise lines, hotels or airlines and access Virgin Voyages perks more quickly.
Virgin Voyages is also using the campaign to underline its adults-only positioning, highlighting a cruise experience built around raised standards — no kids and no early-morning buffet lines.
Social content may feature select messages
With permission, Virgin Voyages may share some voicemail messages on its social channels as part of the brand’s “Get Into a Better Situation(ship)” Valentine’s campaign.
Callers can leave a message on 754-237-7812.
