Virtuoso has appointed industry leader Thatcher Brown as Special Advisor to the Chief Operating Officer, Cruise, reinforcing cruise as a strategic growth priority for the global luxury travel network.
The newly created role highlights Virtuoso’s continued investment in its cruise vertical as the category evolves and competition intensifies across the premium and experiential travel space.
Strategic focus on cruise growth and global partnerships
In his advisory role, Brown will provide senior leadership perspective and strategic oversight to support the long-term health and evolution of Virtuoso’s cruise business.
His remit includes strategy development, organisational structure and future product positioning, with a strong focus on strengthening global partnerships that support Virtuoso’s worldwide membership and ensure sustained growth.
Collaboration across cruise leadership team
Brown will work closely with Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships Cory Hagopian and the Global Partnerships team to ensure alignment between cruise strategy, sales execution and future investment priorities.
Vice President, Global Cruise Lori Sheller will continue to lead the day-to-day execution of Virtuoso’s cruise business, ensuring continuity while the organisation strengthens its long-term cruise framework.
Virtuoso Chief Operating Officer Brad Bourland said the appointment reflects the importance of cruise within the network’s growth strategy.
He noted that Brown’s industry expertise, combined with strong execution leadership, will help shape a global cruise partnership model that connects preferred partners with the right member agencies and advisors worldwide.
Industry experience strengthens advisory role
Brown previously served as Senior Vice President, Global Products at Virtuoso and most recently as CEO of Crescent Seas.
His return brings extensive cruise and product leadership experience as Virtuoso positions itself for the next phase of growth across its global cruise portfolio.
