Holland America Line is on track to complete a US$70 million redevelopment of its Holland America Denali Lodge ahead of the 2027 Alaska Cruisetour season, with the investment set to expand accommodation, enhance dining and strengthen the connection between cruising and Alaska’s inland experiences.
The multi-year project is already well underway, with several upgrades completed and the remaining enhancements scheduled for completion before the 2027 season.
Major upgrades ahead of 2027
The redevelopment includes the construction of two new accommodation buildings, increasing the lodge’s capacity by 72 rooms, alongside a full refurbishment of the Main Lodge’s public spaces and the Grizzly Grind coffee shop.
Completed works already available to guests include renovated accommodation, refreshed public areas, improved wayfinding, a new riverside interpretive trail with scenic viewing areas, expanded seating at Karstens Public House and the introduction of Outpost Coffee + Provisions.
New culinary experiences
Guests will also discover enhanced dining across the property, with menus developed by Holland America Line Culinary Ambassador Ethan Stowell.
The refreshed food and beverage offering places a stronger emphasis on Alaska and Pacific Northwest flavours, featuring regional produce and local seafood.
New menu highlights include smoked salmon bagels, bison chilli, reindeer sausage, fresh Alaskan salmon, king crab legs, halibut fish and chips, Dungeness crab cakes and alder-smoked salmon chowder.
Cruisetours return in 2027
Holland America Line will offer 19 Alaska Cruisetour itineraries between May and September 2027, ranging from nine to 17 days.
Each itinerary combines a three- to seven-night Alaska cruise with an overland journey to Denali National Park, including a one- to three-night stay at Holland America Denali Lodge.
Travellers can also choose itineraries extending into Canada’s Yukon Territory, with visits to Whitehorse and Dawson City. Holland America Line remains the only cruise operator offering Cruisetours that venture into the heart of the Yukon.
New dining package added
The cruise line has also expanded its Have It All Early Booking Bonus for 2027.
Alongside prepaid crew appreciation, upgraded Wi-Fi, an Elite Beverage Package upgrade, shore excursion credit and specialty dining, guests booking eligible 2027 Alaska Cruisetours will receive a new Cruisetour Dining Package.
The package includes selected meals at Holland America-operated properties during the overland portion of the holiday, including Holland America Denali Lodge, Holland America Skagway Inn, Holland America Dawson City Inn and the McKinley Explorer Railway.
