Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed new wellness and dining features for Norwegian Aura, its newest and largest ship, ahead of its debut on 21 May 2027. The ship will sail a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste to Barcelona before a 13-day transatlantic crossing to Miami.
The line describes the ship’s Thermal Suite as the most expansive in the industry, spanning two decks and offering 15 wellness experiences, 11 of them new to NCL. These include the Sensory Rain Pool, which the line says is the first of its kind at sea, transitioning from calm water to simulated tropical rainfall and thunderstorm effects. Other additions include a Snow Cave, a Blue Glow Suite and guided hot and cold plunge experiences.
Tamara becomes NCL’s first Indian specialty restaurant
Tamara will be NCL’s first dedicated Indian restaurant, located on Deck 8 and designed around North Indian temple and courtyard architecture, with an open-view kitchen anchored by tandoor ovens. The menu includes short-rib dosa, lamb biryani and a tableside green papaya salad.
Also new is The Panorama Room, a complimentary dining venue on Deck 6 using LED displays, synchronised lighting and multi-channel audio to shift the visual environment through the day and evening.
Existing venues redesigned, family zone expanded
Le Bistro, Sukhothai, Palomar, Onda by Scarpetta, Cagney’s Steakhouse, Hasuki and Nama all return with updated designs and, in several cases, expanded seating. The ship carries 22 food and beverage options across more than 10 cuisines in total.
Ocean Heights, the ship’s family activity zone, includes six slides, an 82-foot ropes course, a nine-hole mini golf course and overhanging cabanas overlooking the Vibe Beach Club.
Deployment beyond the Europe debut
Following its Mediterranean debut and transatlantic crossing, Norwegian Aura will sail seven-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries in the summers of 2027 and 2028, calling at Puerto Plata, St Thomas, Tortola and Great Stirrup Cay. In winter 2027/28, the ship moves to seven-day Western Caribbean sailings calling at Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Harvest Caye.
