Cunard will give Queen Victoria an extensive refurbishment later this year, with refreshed public spaces, upgraded Grills accommodation and a stronger focus on wellness ahead of the ship’s 2027 deployment.
Three-week refit planned in Rotterdam
The 2,061-guest ship will enter dry dock at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam from 17 October to 5 November 2026, before returning to service on 7 November for a new season of Mediterranean, Norwegian Fjords and World Voyage itineraries.
Australian travellers will be among the first to experience the refreshed ship when Queen Victoria arrives in Sydney on 24 February 2027 during her World Voyage.
The refurbishment will see several of the vessel’s signature venues updated, including the Grand Lobby, which will receive a refreshed design aimed at enhancing guests’ arrival experience while maintaining the ship’s classic Cunard character.
The iconic Queens Room will also be reimagined, providing an updated backdrop for Cunard’s traditional Afternoon Tea, live entertainment and Gala Evenings.
Grills suites and accommodation expanded
Cunard will also enhance its premium Grills accommodation, with the Queens Grill and Princess Grill Suites receiving new furnishings, refined finishes and updated interiors designed to elevate the luxury experience.
The refurbishment will also add eight new Britannia staterooms, including three Britannia Deluxe Oceanview cabins featuring floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic ocean views.
The new accommodation category is available to book from 21 July 2026 for voyages departing from 11 November 2026.
Wellness offering grows
As part of the refurbishment, Queen Victoria will become the third ship in the Cunard fleet to feature The Pavilion Wellness Café, following its introduction on Queen Anne in 2024 and Queen Elizabeth in 2025.
The venue will serve breakfast, lunch and daytime dining, with menus centred on plant-based dishes alongside sustainably sourced meat, seafood and dairy options.
Cunard President Katie McAlister said the refurbishment had been carefully designed to preserve the ship’s heritage while enhancing the guest experience.
“Queen Victoria has always held a special place in the hearts of our guests, celebrated for her distinctive character, intimate spaces and unmistakable sense of British elegance,” McAlister said.
“From the Grand Lobby to the Queens Room, every detail has been thoughtfully considered to ensure Queen Victoria continues to deliver the timeless luxury she is known and loved for.”
