Scenic Discovery Yachts will send Scenic Eclipse into Chile’s Patagonian fjords for a limited 2027 season, giving expedition travellers an alternative to Antarctica in one of South America’s least-visited coastlines.
The program includes voyages of 14 to 24 days between Santiago and Buenos Aires, sailing through narrow channels such as Puerto Edén and the English Narrows. Scenic is positioning the region as a natural companion to Antarctica, with combination itineraries and discounts for guests booking both.
Four key departures announced
Chilean Fjords & The Glaciers of The Beagle Channel departs Santiago for Buenos Aires on 8 March 2027, running 14 days. A Super Earlybird offer includes a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe Verandah Suite and a saving of AU$6,000 per person, with fares from AU$20,385 per person, twin share.
Ancient Kingdoms and Natural Treasures sails Santiago to Panama City over 14 days from 21 March 2027, priced from AU$14,305 per person with a AU$4,000 per person saving.
Fjords & Glaciers of Southern Chile and Patagonia is an 18-day round trip from Buenos Aires departing 28 February 2027, from AU$17,915 per person with a AU$6,500 per person saving.
Ultimate Chilean Fjords & Antarctica’s Weddell Sea combines both regions on a 24-day sailing between Santiago and Buenos Aires from 13 November 2027, priced from AU$59,300 per person with a AU$10,000 per person saving.
All fares are per person, twin share, in Australian dollars, and include taxes and charges. Full payment is due 10 months before departure, or within 30 days of booking for bookings made inside that window.
Antarctica pairing offers up to 50 per cent off
Guests can combine the Chilean Fjords with Antarctica in a single booking. The 8 March 2027 Chilean Fjords voyage can be paired with the Antarctica in Depth departure on 25 February 2027 for a combined 27-day journey from AU$43,760 per person, with up to 50 per cent off the Chilean Fjords portion when booked in the same suite category under promo code P193893. The saving is not combinable with other offers on that voyage, and Earlybird pricing applies only to the Antarctica sailing.
Onboard, expedition-style exploration
Scenic Eclipse carries two helicopters and a submersible, both at additional cost and subject to weather, weight and regulatory conditions, alongside Zodiacs, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. A Discovery Team of up to 20 specialists leads excursions. The ship also calls at Chiloé, known for its brightly painted waterfront houses and World Heritage-listed wooden churches, and the region is home to humpback and blue whales, Magellanic and Humboldt penguins, and Andean condors.
Accommodation is all-suite with butler service, up to 10 dining venues, eight bars and lounges, and the 550-square-metre Senses Spa, with speciality dining included in the fare.
Jason Flesher, Scenic Group’s director of discovery operations, said the Chilean Fjords stood apart from better-known expedition destinations.

Limited departures for 2027
Scenic said departures into the region are limited for the 2027 season, reflecting both the remoteness of the destination and the size of its expedition fleet. Offers are subject to availability and may be withdrawn once allocated inventory sells out.
