Valiant Lady returns with major refresh as Virgin Voyages targets repeat business

Virgin Voyages has unveiled a major refresh of Valiant Lady following a dry dock overhaul, introducing new dining concepts, redesigned public spaces and more than 20 new onboard experiences as the cruise line looks to drive repeat bookings and provide fresh selling opportunities for travel advisors.

The adults-only ship has returned to service with a range of upgrades spanning dining, entertainment, wellness and social spaces. Virgin Voyages said the changes were designed to give returning guests a noticeably different onboard experience while strengthening the line’s appeal to first-time cruisers.

New restaurant headlines ship enhancements

The most significant addition is Ariya by Razzle Dazzle, a 220-seat restaurant inspired by India’s regional cuisines and spice markets. The venue joins Virgin Voyages’ existing dining collection and is positioned as a key new attraction for repeat guests.

Other upgrades include refreshed outdoor and social venues such as The Athletic Club, The Roundabout, Grounds Club Too, The Manor, On the Rocks and The Dock, alongside new retail offerings from TAG and Pandora.

Virgin Voyages CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu said the cruise line had focused on evolving the guest experience rather than simply maintaining the ship.

“Valiant Lady was already one of the most compelling ships at sea, but we kept asking ourselves how to make her even more worth coming back for,” Saverimuttu said.

More than 20 new onboard experiences

The refurbishment also includes a revamped entertainment program featuring more than 20 new “Happenings” across the ship. New experiences range from interactive game shows and late-night social events to culinary-focused activities, including espresso martini tastings, matcha workshops and food pairing sessions.

Additional wellness and creative experiences have also been introduced, including fitness sessions, craft workshops and stargazing events.

Focus on advisor sales opportunities

The announcement places a strong emphasis on the trade, with Virgin Voyages highlighting its commission structure and advisor support programs. The cruise line offers 16 per cent commission with no non-commissionable fees, alongside access to training through Seacademy and agent resources via its Seaciety platform.

Valiant Lady is currently sailing Mediterranean itineraries including the Italian Grand Tour, French Riviera and Ibiza routes, before moving to Amsterdam and Iceland sailings. The ship will reposition to San Juan in October for Caribbean cruises through April 2027.

The refreshed vessel forms part of Virgin Voyages’ broader strategy to increase repeat business and strengthen engagement with its travel advisor community.
